Rodney

I know that he doesn't look like much, but I'm proud of this little guy. I think I might go this route for the lemur project.

More Columbus

This is another scene from the hotel window. I didn't have time to do the color when it was light, and finished it after dark one night. So, if you compared it to the actual scene, it wouldn't mat probably at all. But, it's cute. I had planned to do some journaling in the big empty sky space, but I didn't have much to say. What was I going to say?

State House

I was in Columbus for work for a few days, and drew this site outside my hotel window.
Didn't have much time, so there's not a whole lot there, but I did finish another one that I'll post later.

Insomnia

What do you do when you've got a touch of insomnia? You get up and draw a folding dolley, of course. It's a little off on the base; I should have angled the pattern toward the right.

Songs

My sister gave me a shuffle for Christmas. When I visited my parents, I got around to loading a decent amount of songs into it. I know it's supposed to hold about 200 songs, but I'm at about 115. I'm hestitant to put in songs that I don't really love. It's weighted very heavy in John Mellencamp and Tom Petty. When I was uploading songs, I was surprised that Bob Seger has nothing on itunes of any real interest.

Big Mouth Billy Bass

Well, he's not a bass, but still. . . . This is from the wall at the Nauti Mermaid in the warehouse district. Five of us went there after the sketchcrawl. If everyone else's food was as bad as mine, I feel bad. Mine was really salty and kind of burned. The only reason I ate it was because I was going right to work, and I wasn't going to have a chance to eat again until about 8pm. The service was pretty bad for there only being 3 or 4 tables with people at them. I hate to think how bad service is when they're busy. Plus, the stall in the women's room didn't latch. I was thinking, Oh, I'll try them again later, maybe they were having an off day, but the thing is there are tons of restaurants right near it. Doesn't seem to make sense to go somewhere that I know it might be bad.

The Chair of Otis

I visited my parents in Pennsylvania on Sunday, and I drew this chair. It's Otis's chair. Their dog's chair. He rules their house. He also plays ball for 22 hours a day, but is scared to go outside in the rain.
It was a long day with the driving, and then going to work for a few hours tonight. Plus, I had this horrible squeak in the car the whole way home. It wasn't until I got home from work that I figured out what it was. It was the rear seatbelt. When I had the rear seats down the last time, I forgot to pull the seatbelt forward, so it squeaked against the wall of the hatch. Drove me nuts!

Sketch Crawl

We drew around Euclid Avenue and Public Square this morning. I drew down toward the House of Blues, sitting on the stoop of the Soldier's and Sailor's monument. I took a towel to sit on, in case things were wet. But, it wasn't. It was a cold, cold stoop though. Everyone had such great sketches.

Aquariums

I have 2 aquariums, a 55 gallon and a 30 gallon. My 30 gallon just has a betta and 2 corydoras, but that one is forever coated in algae. I can't seem to control it. I ripped it all apart last night in an effort to get rid of it once again, only to realize that it will probably come back. I went into the cabinet for the 55 gallon, thinking that I had a small bottle of Algone to dose in the water. I'm very against chemicals for aquariums, except for water conditioner, because they tend to really throw the water chemistry out of whack. But, I really didn't want to see it come back. So, I was going to dose the water. Then, I found that I, in fact, didn't have Algone, instead I had Accu-Clear which is for foggy water. I don't even know why I have that, because I've never had a foggy water problem. But, I didn't dose the tank, because I didn't have the chemical that I wanted, so all in all, it's for the best.
