Introducing Louie

Here, meet Louie the intrepid and curious ring-tailed lemur (lemur catta).

This is a rough sketch, but it gives me an idea of this idea of mine would work.
Any comments are very much appreciated.

I think this could work, but if I were still in art class I'd probably have to mention that it's a bit static... the lemur body very nearly cuts the composition in half (because the white on the bottom kind of drops away) which is always dangerous, and even with the tail providing a bit of a question mark, the line of its body is very horizontal. I'd tilt his body one way or the other then strengthen the shadow line under him to emphasize the diagonal.

That's just my suggestion though, it's a neat idea and I look forward to seeing where you go with it.

I'm not an artist at all, so go with Meagan's comments over mine. My first thought, though, was "Woah, psychadelic..."

Meagan,
Those are some great suggestions. This was just an initial sketch, kind of the jumping off point for me to improve it.

I had an idea that there would be people sitting on the bench in front of the glass, too. They would be looking at a flyer or map, oblivious to Louie swimming behind them.

I might have to consider the facing pages. Because the flow of the artwork should not only move nicely on the page, it should lead to a facing page.
